For any of you nakeds out there. I bought a Puig mini sports touring screen (tinted) for my 600N from Get Geared, for the ridiculously small sum of £24. Wasn't expecting much for that price, but has proved to be incredibly good. Excellent quality with stainless fittings. Makes a real difference to wind pressure on the upper body at 60+. Needs careful positioning though to minimize noise and buffeting, and may not suit taller folk. Highly recommended.

SWMBO put a tiny little screen on her last bike and, like you, noticed a major difference.

Yip, have to agree. My lad has one on his D6 and it makes all the difference to sit comfortably at M-way speeds. If/when I get that new bike, a fly screen will be top of the list

Way back in my early biking days I had a rounded handlebar fairing with screen and sides that curved back behind the handlebars but not enough to hit the tank on full steering lock. It kept the wind pressure off and caused no buffeting whatsoever. Presumably air flowed smoothly around the fairing. When I first tried modern bikes with frame mounted fairing I was surprised how poor they are for buffeting and wind noise. My point??? A low screen, angled back should take pressure off the rider, but not acting like a barn door will make less turbulence. Something well rounded would be best. What I had was something like this: www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo.aspx?catRef=517881&tduid=b1d31cfe9cff05428daf0bea94f23c7b&affId=1506797But more rounded and the screen top curved backwards until almost flat.

I have a '93 600S, is the Puig screen an improvement over the standard one?

Not this one - it's just a small flyscreen for nakeds, so not suitable for an 'S'.
I haven't seen a thread on here recently about screens for the 600S, unlike the 900S where the owners never seem to stop going on about them LOL. Maybe someone will come along with a recommendation - or you may have to post in the "General" section, which gets a wider audience.
