After having replaced the choke cable, I've realised that the well nuts are shagged on the rearmost fairing mounts. I tried tightening them up, but they just spin. Unfortunately, to remove them, it looks as if I'll have to remove the petrol tank..again then hold the well nut from behind and drill out the screw. seems to be a two man job, I don't want the drill to jump out of the screw and gouge the fairing. These well nuts look to be M5's, are they?

Try Halfords choice of colours metal or plastic (plastic saved my screen & faring when I dropped it in the garage 2 broken screws & no other damage done).
No waiting no postage & if I remember right packs of 10 so spares.

Nice sites, lots of shiny bits. It's not for my screen though, I replaced them the other day, using plastic screws. It's the well nuts that hold the bach part of the fairing to the frame that I need to replace. Where the well nuts are knackered the fairing vibrates. cheaper than hein gericke where I bought a pack of 10 the other day Although I have 2 spares left just a case of sourcing the screws, I'll look on the sites you've just given me. Oh yeah, I've saved the sites to my "bookmarks" for future ref. Ta

Hmm, does your fairing vibrate, are your well nuts shagged. [ It's not that heavy, but the clacking from the pollution system valve gear has gone. Now its only the drone of vibrating fairing plastic. :-(
Another way might be to silicone suitable bolts into the little air stacks. Certainly a cheap option.
