www.mandp.co.ukI've bought from M&P before, a couple of years ago, at least. I stopped, because stuff listed on their website was often not actually in stock. I believe others have found this too. You end up waiting well beyond a reasonable time, whilst they order-in & eventually dispatch. But when I saw their tyre deals on Ebay, knowing Ebay rules (don't sell stuff you don't actually have) & assuming these items were truly end-of-line items I chanced my luck. I bought & paid on 13 June 2009. The tyres were advertised as delivery in 48 hours. I chased by email on 19 June. I got a reply saying they were out of stock & I should wait. They finally arrived today, 30 June 2009, having been sent by M&P to the courier (Parcel Force) yesterday. So if you are in a hurry - be warned. Even on their Ebay offerings .

Ebay shops often advertise items they don't have, even when they say X number is available. Sometimes they don't hold the stock themselves but order direct from the manufacturers once you pay. I ordered a tyre changing machine when the ebay shop said they had 10 available, they took my money (£220 ) then told me they were 'expecting' stock to arrive within 1 month. I phoned the manufacturer direct who said they were unsure when stock would be ready as they had a production problem. Obviously I got a swift refund

Loads of sellers do that on E-Bay , ask Clive about his tyre changer, a Sealey product, iirc, after e-mailing several of the sellers they all said they were waiting for stock from Sealey. Clive e-mailed Sealey direct, the product the E-Bay sellers were advertising was going to be out of production for the forseeable future ! E-Bay rules? Isn't that an oxymoron Bngger, posted at the same time, but the same message

Andy ordered some tyres a couple of weeks back. They sent him email on Friday night to tell him one tyre was out of stock and wasn't due in until the following week. Amazingly the complete order was delivered, to mine, on the following Monday in the am. (I charged him a handling fee of course for sending them to me ;D)
So, perhaps they don't really know their stock quantities at all.

I should really start checking this site before I start ordering parts.
Just ordered a chain and sprocket set from M&P :-(
