It might also be possible to make a Divvie choke cable using a bicycle gear cable. I've used these as throttle cables on other bikes and found them smoother than the originals.
BTW, my choke cable siezed up over the winter. Actually the cable was fine. but the sliding mechanism on the carbs was stuck solid. Oiling it all didnt help and I eventually had to strip it down. The sliding blocks are nylon so I used silicone grease and its still doing ok.

I knew the cable was frayed when I sprayed all the sliding bits a few weeks ago.
BTW the new cable arrived, this place I bought it from listed it as for 95 -03 models. bloomin thing isn't for handlebar mounted choke levers
I spoke to the guy, and it turns out that their supplier has two cables listed, guess which one I got..

The correct cable arrived soon after this, fitted the handle bar end the other day. Now I've got the tank and the airbox off, the bloomin clamp screw for the choke end is rusted. I've sprayed it with plus gas, I'll leave it to soak for a while. I can't use the impact driver, as the carbs "float" on their rubbers. i might have a go with the blowtorch, being carefull not to damage anything local. Failing that I might have to drill the head off, and hope the screw ondoes. bloomin 30 minute jobs managed to yank the old one out and wiggle in the replacement. As per usual with me, it turned into an ACF50 fest'. I spotted a few previously untouched threads/nuts/ bolts/ terminals that I hadn't sprayed before. if only new owners did this

Mine was the same and I couldnt move the booger. The cable was ok so I gave up, but some time, probably when I'm late......
