Took the new (old) 900 on a trip with some people from work last week - seven bikes ranging from a 1000 Ninja to a learner on a stroker. Approx 700Ks from my place to meet the others at Windsor, NSW. Up Bells to Mt Victoria & across to Sofala, Oberon and Bathurst. Back to Lithgow & the full trip down Bells Line. Divvie didn't miss a beat only being upstaged in corners by the Ninja (rider is also an ex-racer) & a Fireblade (rider is a maniac). Speeds ranged from crawling through suburban traffic to 160 kmh blasting across the plains near Bathurst. 900 averaged a bit over 17km/litre due mainly (I think) to my recent removal of the pollution stuff. "Numb bum" syndrome didn't set in until about 50Ks from home, due mainly to the sheepskin pad I recently fitted. All in all an enjoyable day - much more to come as we have had enquiries from other depots & look like making these rides a monthly event with up to 30 riders.

Nice round trip.
Quite enjoy Bell's......going up that is. Better when the speed limits were a bit higher though.
PS: The Netrider clan do the route on a regular basis. Seems to be a popular ride for some reason. Might be that little pie shop near the bottom (Kurrajong Heights?)
Cheers.

Sounds like a great ride. I wonder how the sports bike riders felt after that distance. I get about the same fuel consumption from my Divvie 900 (10 miles per litre) but it soon drops when I do any hard riding and pannier cases/topbox knock off another 10%. The handling only gets shown up on fast left/right flicks when I can feel the forks straining and front wheel biting the tamac. It does chew the front tyre shoulders.
