Hello, My front brakes are binding. I've had this three times before and did not get much change out of £80 each time for the work to be done. I want to try and do this work myself now.
Hope this is not to direct, but was wondering if anybody who lives around grays/lakeside shopping centre( Essex), wouldn't mind tutoring me on this, I am prepared to pay of course. (my place or yours it does not matter)
thanks dxtans

Far better to do it yourself, they can't have been done properly before if it's happened three times!
Although, it is a good idea to clean them at least once a year.

In my experience we are lucky to get 2 years between brake rebuilds with at least an annual caliper clean-out. A bi-annual brake fluid change is a must do and even better do it annually.
Some find them ok, but I've found that Yamaha brakes only work reliably with Yamaha seals. *^&*^$ing expensive, but I've never had pattern seals that fit properly.

I have now been tutored. I can now with confidence change brake pads, and with some confidence clean the brakes...( famous last words...)
Thanks to Paddy, who demonstrated really well, hopefully I've picked up enough tech know-how for the brakes. thanks Paddy.
