I've been looking at some new cans on ebay 110298235575.
Nothing wrong with the originals on the bike, but to me they just look a bit bulky.
What would cans like the above do to the bike, performance/economy wise?

They did sound nice until they were adjusted by a low flying Bandit Surely you meant a low flying bit of Bandit luggage ? Dave

I think the Bandit was on a low level bombing run. Neil

Is it illegal to remove the baffles? Does it matter what level of db are reached within reason?
Are the cans lighter? Is that a good thing with the top heavy nature of a D9?

Cans are lighter, yes it's probably illegal to remove the baffles (you'll fall foul of construction and use regs if it's above the statutory decibel limit) TBH, though, If you have a normal sized number plate and are riding ok then you're unlikely to get pulled for a noisy pipe - I certainly never have been and my exhaust is somewhat fruity.

Mmmm - They do look good.
They also do SS downpipes for the D9 too for £99.

What's an SS down pipe do?
I'm new to these Divi & haven't ridden a bike for 30+ yrs. till I got this one. It seems a good un so I want to put some money into it without being ridiculous about it.

err
Down pipes & collector look quite good on mine (almost newish) so I might not go for that.
Just looking to do stuff so, subject to no mishaps I can keep the bike for a few years as it does everything I want it to now. just some cosmetic stuff & comfort stuff.
