Can any one tell me the downsides of washing the D9 with a power washer rather than good old soapy water.
Will any of the electrics get soaked to their detriment?

i'd probably use one if i had one...
some people say you need to be careful around bearing and other parts that need to be lubricated as 'power washing' may force the lubricant out.
Just dont' blast the electrics to much should be alright after all they work in the rain.

What, me, wash my D9? With my reputation?
Mates with trail bikes who do use power washers do say they need to change wheel bearings, steering head etc. fairly regularly, though how much of this is down to the washer and how much to riding through streams etc. I don't know.
Actually, I do give the D9 the odd rinse with a normal hose to get rid of salt and the worst of the road muck, but generally I think a working bike looks better for a bit of what the trade calls "patina" - and possibly less likely to get nicked, too.
