Well for my 41st Birthday on Saturday I took the D9 out for her 1st big run and went to Beddgelert in Snowdonia. Took a mate pillion and camping gear.
Started out OK but the rain lashed down and I ended up taking a wrong turning and coming down the horse shoe pass as it was getting dark. Loads of rain and as I hadn't realised how to adjust the headlight my main beam was only good for illuminating low flying aircraft. The rain was so bad and the winds that we were doing 20mph at a few stretches past Capel Curig.
Got to the campsite in the end and its very very nice, charged 6 notes each and he allows campfires if you buy his wood but we couldn't be bothered as its was quite mild.
Journey home started out again in torrential rain and a few straight bits had awefull side winds - realy scared me as I thought we'd get blown off the road.
Im still new to the Divvy, especialy two up fully laden and when I get better I'm sure I will get hergoing a bit more but best to be cautious and safe at the mo?
A few pics, one of the D9 unladen, two setup as a pack horse and one of our light weight camping?
the supeflip skidmarx screen and heated grips certainly helped. One funny bit tho was on the way be pulled in a layby to have a fag under a tree and we were both in high glow yellow jackets and a car stopped to ask for help as he thought we were coppers?
WQhen we got to the campsite two seperate people asked where they could pitch? in the end I just said Im a biker not a campsite owner Jim???
