Hi all,
I have a '87 XJ900, in pretty good nic. Only problem is a slight sway that develops when I slow down from highway speeds to below 70km/hr. It's a speady, slow sway from left to right that has me a little worried.
I have recently changed the front tyre to try to solve this, but no luck. The steering head bearing is in pretty good condition, a little grooved but no noticable notching.
Could it be a bent frame? Problem with the front shocks?
Thanks for any ideas.

hi
Welcome to site.
Do you have a large top box? could be that, I had same problem on my Diversion, greatly reduced when box removed.

No, but I do have a couple of panniers on. I thought it may be an uneven weight distribution, but I only noticed it after the bike was hot.

They all do it there are lots of threads here with possible answers to the problem.
The main ones seem to be in no particular order,
1 head bearings 2 top box 3 (what I found on mine) tyre pressures and\or tyre wear.

Found an oil leak in one of my rear shocks. I'll get them repaired as soon as the market signicantly recovers (low on funds) and see if that helps.
Thanks for your suggestions
