On the shaft drive housing of my D9 I have broken the dome shaped cap off the Breather valve which sits at the top of the rear differential housing.
Question: Does this valve screw out? I am reluctant to put a pair of Stilsons on it until I am sure it is removable.

You sure it's a breather valve? Jim, not a lot of help I know but, in the parts fische I have it doesn't look like it screws out , but it gives a part number for the complete breather assembly; 2H7-17590-00, so I assume it can be replaced separately? Armed with this number I would suggest ringing Yamaha spares supplier and asking them? HTH Trev

Trev - I have it on very good authority that it is indeed a 'breather valve' ;D
Thanks for the Part Number. I shall have a word with my local Yamaha Dealer tomorrow.
Cheers mate.
