Just returned from the Bank Holiday weekend touring in the North of Ireland. Took the ferry form Troon to Larne on Saturday, then followed the A2 coast road to Port Stewart, stopping at Carrick-a-Rede and the Giant's Causeway en route. Sunday, we continued on the A2 to Londonderry, then the N13 to Letterkenny. and from there we followed the coastal N56 to Donegal. Finally on Monday, we headed back to Larne on the N13 to Belleek, A47(?) to Kesh and Omagh, A5, A4, M1, A26, A6 and finally we picked up the A2 again at Carrickfergus. About 500 miles over the 3 days, great weather and great roads. Some piccies:

Friend and I are taking the bikes to Northern ireland for 3 days end of July. Can u recommend places to Stay. Fancy an overnight stop at PortRush and need somewhere close to the ferry port of Larne as we're catching the early morning ferry home. Any other routes/tips would be great. Travelling return Troon to larne.

Great pics Tommy ;D You should get royalties from the NI tourist office. The bike looks great too. Nice reminder of my NW200 days. Unfortunately when I took Mrs G over the last time, she got flu, the hailstones were horizontal, and we nearly got blown off the cliffs while watching the racing

Just back from Northern ireland. Managed to pick the worst weather. Rained solid for most of the time. Well it got rid of my fear fro riding in the rain Can definitely recommend the Clairmont B & B at Portrush. Although we found out our twin room had been given away when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to be offered a bigger room with seaview and jaccuzi ;D. Although there is no off road parking bikes were safe parked outside. (Is that because a divvy is a not a stealable bike as I'm told from a frien with a R6!!!! As for the Derrin B & B at Larne (booked because it was nearer the port so as to catch early ferry) not recommended! No heating (yes I know it was supposed to be summer!) to dry out our gear and as the owner said " please wheel ur bikes to the bottom of the drive before starting them and ensure u close the doors quietly" I ask u did we look like we were gony sit and rev our bikes in the drive at 6am!!!!!!! Does this rule apply to car drivers. I think not! All in all a great time although no-one warned me about the slippy slippy boat (My friend dropped her 3 week old SV650) next time I'll request better weather and a dry boat! ps got a great route covering the NW200 but dont know how to post the link!
