Anyone been or know someone who's been to Morrocco. Loking into a wee trip later this year. Plan at the moment seems to be ferry to spain, drive down and then over to Morrocco. Dont fancy the extra days drive through france, even though that would be cheaper. Its simple enough to get ferries from spain, but just after any advice on this. Ta.

Funny that, I was just looking at Morroco this morning and wondering what it would be like. Had a quick look at the map and a route down. I'll be interested to see some other comments. Well Shaz said she would like to go some where different!

Friend of mine organises Land Rover excursions to Morocco, Tunisia, Libya etc. Will get some info from him if you want but can't get it for a couple of weeks. He's away at the moment....

I'll back that up Mac. Any info you can get would be excellent. Knight, don't know if youve looked or not. Theres a few sites with tours on them but they all seem to be a bit expensive. Most of them give you a BMW for the duration too. This is the cheapest one I could find, and you take your own bike. www.motoursonline.com/tourmorocco12.htmlThink we'll be looking at the independent way.

Guiness It was interesting to see their agenda, they don't clock up many miles in a day. I thought the price was good until I realised it was per head. Like you I would be thinking of doing it of our own backs. There are a good range of IBIS hotels in Morocco we often use them when touring.

Had a good wee shufty about the interweb tonight. Seems it can be quite cheap, rooms from about £25-£30 a night. Thanks for the tip on Ibis. Even last minute.com come up with them as the cheapest. Plenty hotels in other places which are really dear, like a suite for £70 in the middle of the dessert. Not too bad. Just hope the bike holds up. I guess bikes can be taken to all the hotels there.

I seem to remember that there's Spanish enclave on the coast but the name escapes me at the moment.
I've seen various recommendations that you take the ferry from Spain to there as it allows you to separate the ferry crossing from the border crossing.
I'll check tonight and hopefully come up with the name.
Ride safe,
Tommy.
