From: Haggis02661 Sent: 5/8/2004 Here is a challange to all of you out there..... Lets find the best price for a replacement rear shock. What we need is price (inc p&p) , where from and contact details for supplier (phone or website). and a date the price was found. Must be a proper retailer (ie no ebay). Andy. From: Haggis02661 Sent: 5/8/2004 Should have said state weather it is for a 600 or 900. From: m40man Sent: 5/9/2004 Hagon Monoshock for a 600: shop.wemoto.com/index.dyn?oid=2147931 248 quid + seemingly free postage. How does this compare? Price checked today. They do same for 900 too. From: m40man Sent: 5/9/2004 Same Hagon monoshock for a 600 is 227 quid at www.bbbikeshop.co.uk/acatalog/Browse___Best___Buy_Yamaha_Betor_Range_225.html 'Shocking' price difference! Martin. From: CardiffDivvyFan Sent: 5/9/2004 Busters Online are offering a Betor unit with adjustable rebound and damping for £165.00. Cheapest I've seen so far, not sure of the quality though!! Follow that! Regards, Paul From: TSJ Sent: 5/10/2004 I have heard that the Betor shocks are not worth the money, and that it's much better to spend the extra on one which can be rebuilt. What's the price of the genuine Yamaha one? Anybody know? Trevor From: gurninman Sent: 5/11/2004 Busters also sell a bitubo shock for about £179 (from memory) - I've used these in the past, and while they're not as good as Hagon, they are far better than standard. DK Spares have the Betor for £139 + £10 P&P on their ebay shop. Dunno if that counts but I assume they sell stuff from their premises in Stoke.

What do you reckon to the Betor shock for handling. Better/worse than original?

alledgedly 'tolerable' cheapy replacements, for routine commuting. Not tried one myself though.
......... I guess if you need one & don't want/can't afford a 'better' one .....

Please excuse the breach in rules on this thread, I have a good point. I was looking for a cheapy replacement and found a good quality used part on eBay.fr That's the French eBay. I won the auction, and plus the postage came to just over £40. My point, the weather on the continent is a lot better hence the second hand parts are in better condition and in less demand. Amortisseur = Shock Absorber in French. Link to my win cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160209632551

99-02 YAMAHA R6 REAR SHOCK IS DIRECT REPLACEMENT FOR D600 REAR SHOCK. PLUS...ITS 3CM LONGER THAN STOCK SO YOU GET JACKED IN THE BACK INSTEAD OF THAT WHAT-HAVE-YOU.

This looks like a good option - there's a sight more R6 shocks out there than divvy ones. Think I'll be looking on ebay for one.....

Certainly seems to be a large number of them available and cheap too; however the pictures I'm seeing seem to have a slightly different sized mounting. Guess it's difficult to tell from the photos. I wonder if anyone has the dimensions?

Aye, the dims would be good - see what else fits. Divvy shocks are not only rara, they're rubbish too Anthing that improves the rear end has to be a good thing - now to shove a load of 2p pieces into the forks to up the preload.

No need for a LOAD of 2p's GM. I know you're all rich Gits down South, compared to us up here in our third world country, but I found 2 per fork worked well on the D9.
Of course I had to save for 2 weeks before I tried it, also doubled the value of the bike.

I put 4 x 2ps in each fork of my MZ. Anything less and the forks still knocked Penny-pinching in all sorts of ways - large washers were 10p apiece.

Has anyone been able to confirm a 99-02 R6 shock fits the 600 Diversion?
I'm after a new shock for mine, but don't want to fork out £250 for a Hagon for just a commuter bike. Ebay is very devoid of genuine replacements of decent quality, but the R6 shock is plentiful.
I bought a Betor shock yesterday, and it's the biggest pile of expletives for its cost.
Cheers guys.

I have a WP on my 900 designed to go onto the FJ1200. The damping is now turned up full but its still way better than the Divvie original or Betor. It cost me £60 and can be rebuilt so buying was well worth the risk.
You could try a cheap R6 unit off ebay and see how it goes its probably still loads better than the worn out thing on the bike.

Aye, for the price they're going on Ebay, it might be worth it just to buy one and see; I can always flog it back if it doesn't actually fit. Cheers.

The FZS600 Fazer shock is the same spec as the D900

That's amazing the Divve must weigh loads more than the Fazer. I guess its all in the linkage.

The FZS600 Fazer shock is the same spec as the D900 Does that mean it fits straight in with no "adjustments" needed?

It is a straight swap. If you check on the part numbers for Hagon replacement shocks it is the same.

Sorry miss-read that as the 600, but even so the 900 is a tank in comparison. Perhaps the 900 has preload turned up. Mine was certainly very harsh to ride with the original shock.
