Hi I have a 95, 900 div and the front end is a bit on the tired and soggy side. This is not good in fast bends I dont want to spend to much on her so I was wandering if fitting a spacer at the top of the forks between the spring and the top bolt cap would do the trick. I remember doing this sort of thing with older bikes to improve the handling. Has anyone tried this? if you have, can you remember what length the spacer was? Cheers Kenny (MM)

May be worth changing the fork oil and maybe try 15w....
The bike's 17 years old and possibly never had it's fork oil changed, so in time though seepage, and degradation a change may be good as a rest, erm...spacer.
You'll find it's not a difficult job to do......the hardest part is replacing the cap that you were going to take off anyway.....
The oil's cheap too.

Maths not your strong point then Neil! Good point about changing the oil first though, and raise the forks a tad (10mm seems about right). trev

I am sure I have heard of people using a stack of 2p coins as spacers, you can build them up until the setting is just so !

Why not, 2p coins are cheaper than washers.
But if the bike is going to get much use its got to be worth £50 (or so) for some Hagon progressive springs.
