Mine broke on the curved cross brace, just above the weld to a side leg. The whole thing looks weak to me, so I welded a 25mm x 3mm steel strip across the stand to reinforce the cross brace. It's important to weld the reinforcement strip across the rear of the stand (when in parked position) or the return spring wont work. It's welded at each end and to the top of the cross brace. I repaired my stand after it broke. This made the job much harder as aligning the pivot bolt holes was a problem. Its worth checking for any cracks and doing the repair before the stand breaks. Edit: Another reinforcement strip welded across the front but below the spring mounting lug might be worthwhile but do cheack for clearance when the stand is retracted.
