is it broke? a stiff choke, its normaly the bar that runs through the carbs needing lubed, which prevents the choke from operating, but i guess its a broken cable ;D

Hi, Yep its snapped. I think that, to get to the cable fixings, I have to remove the airbox (fitted over the 4 carbs ), seems like a load of old hassle compared with same job on other bikes ? Thanks

Air box is easy to remove/refit. Cable retaining clamp screws are hard to access and undo so it would be my advice to have replacement screws available and possibly a new mounting bracket. I chose to repaint my bracket but it may help you to be pre-advised that this item may be rusty. The mounting bracket is clamped onto the carb diagphram cover clamp screw. This can be removed with a stubby screwdriver. Job is fiddly but fairly easy.

just replaced mine and YES the bracket was rusty .... soaked it in some releasing oil for a while then used a wire brush ...cleaned up a treat. but i replaced the posidrive bolt /.../ philips/.../ with a allen key bolt... which is much easier acces to tighten .../// or undo... job's a good un... but remember when setting about doin the job try and keep petrol tank low on fuel. pain in the arzz emptying a full tank.you can also check your gauge whilst youve got the tank off... which is a common fault on the 900.
