Does anyone have one of these Alu Racks fitted to their 900 ? I am looking to use one of these as an alternative to Givis rather cumbersome Monorack that I am currently using. I am very interested to know exactly where the retaining bolts go on the bike ( I do have a very very good reason for wanting to know this before I buy one of these things). Found a pic of one of these racks on Motahous's website. But I think they use stock pics as the image of the 900 rack deffintely aint on a Divvy, lol Anyone got one or got the fitting instructions or even better got a pic of one, Cheers

I've got a full SW-Motech set of frames including the Alu-Rack top plate fitted to Big Blue my shiny D9 and they work a treat with the adapter plates for the Givi / Kappa boxes. I got this system for the same cosmetic reasons that you mention, and also for the speed of fitting and removal of the side frames. There was some confusion over part numbers for the Divvy 900 and I eventually bought mine from a dealer in Germany called Aktivweb Gmbh (www.ebiker24.de)(email address service@ebiker24.de)- It was cheaper to do that than to buy them here in the UK.(even including delivery!) They were efficient and very helpful.
Part numbers for the kit are:- KFT.06.230.100 YA XJ900 (Quick Lock side box base kit comprising 2 off hand grip replacement brackets, 1 off rear bracket which fits on numberplate fixing points, 2 off small brackets that go on the exhaust mounts & 2 off side box carrier plates plus necessary screws and quick lock bayonet fixings)
KFT.00.152.105 (Givi / Kappa box adapter button kit)
QLS.00.046.100 (Locking Quick Locks to stop theft of side frames / boxes)
GPT.06.242.100/S YA XJ900 (Alu-Rack top box base kit)(S is for silver finish) This is just a base plate & you need a top box adapter plate with Givi fixings too - I bought mine cheap off ebay so I don't have the part numbers for this handy.
The mounting instructions are on the SW-Motech website and these show how the kit fits fairly well.

How much did all that cost? I'm tempted but not too flush for cash right now.

If I remember correctly the prices I paid were 28 to 30% less than SW-Motech's online price list shows and delivery was 19 Euros. The UK dealer I spoke to couldn't (or wouldn't) match the Germans on price, they would rather not sell than lower their prices. Typical of many bike parts suppliers! They seem to have it too easy if they can afford not to be competetive! BTW I also bought my Givi boxes from Germany for the same reason - lower prices! - Good ol' ebay! Great for finding best price suppliers!
