Hello all. New to the forum but not to the xj900s as have had mine for over 10 years. Question is how to service the rear master cylinder? Can it be done, or am I looking at buying a new one? Ta folks

Hello, I've since discovered repair kits can be bought, so I've answered my own question But. How the hell do you undo the two torx screws holding the master cylinder onto the bracket? Jeez they're tight. Are they lock tighted on at the factory, and is heat required to undo em? I'm not happy using heat as don't want to damage the cylinder itself. Any help appreciated folks. Ta

Hi, torx aren't original bolts. In it's past someone has replaced them.
I think you'll want to try an impact driver. My air one generally manages super-tight bolts like these, where some corrosion has seized bolts in place.
Or they may have just been overtightened, which is not good but not unusual in my experience.
If you decide on heat, don't get carried away.
Whereabouts are you? I'm south Oxfordshire if you get stuck & need a hand.
Martin.
