I have owned my XJ600S Diversion for nine years. For eight of those years, whenever I had to lift the tank, I could disconnect the fuel and vacuum pipes with just a tiny spillage of fuel from the pipe as expected and put the tank aside.
However, just two or three months ago I had to lift the tank and got greeted with wet shoes when I took off the fuel pipe as the petrol came out and just kept coming. Great, thought I, I need a petrol tap repair kit. £33 paid to Wemoto, tap kit fitted, fuel in tank. Excellent! tap works again.
I have lifted the tank again last week and once again got wet shoes when I took of the fuel pipe. The vacuum tap has gone AGAIN!!!!
Anyone any idea why this may now be happening?

I don't suppose the tap is turned to the "prime" position by any chance?? Just thinking of possibilities.
