From: Fiasco Sent: 5/1/2004 Had my MOT done today by a bloke called Dave Rogers, in a barn on a farm in Great Kimble, near Prices Risborough, Bucks. They do not advertise and all their customers are from word of mouth. The reason I originally found them was that I stopped for a bloke on a 600N that run out of petrol (no it wasn't Tim it was another !) I gave him a lift on my bike to the petrol station and back. He bought me a coffee as a thank you and we got talking about servicing as I don't know anyone reasonable locally. He took me to meet this bloke on a farm and I kept the number. Anyway booked the bike in for an MOT while I wait and to have my suspension linkage greased (sorry Reaper I bottled it - but next time !). Dave did the Mot and then his colleague Ian took over for the suspension service. He was happy for me to stand there asking dumb questions, and showed me how to do it next time myself. He also showed me other bits of maintenance required by the Divvy. They even made me a coffee which was welcome as I got soaked on the way there. The atmosphere there was great and I also saw a few classics come and go as well as an R1 in for an oil change (all that time it could have been done as it was prob in a heated garage all winter !) Anyway once it was all done the nicest suprise was the bill £15.20 for the MOT and £16 to remove and regrease my suspension (half an hour labour) I left the change as a Thank you for all the advice and will definately go back again Here are the details: - D C Rogers Units 2 & 3 Holly Tree Farm Great Kimble Bucks HP17 9TX tel) 01844 346998 It is very hard to find but if anyone local wants to know where it is I will be happy to ride out there with them - great roads Dave (Fiasco)

Just like to add my voice to that.. Dave is my 'nice man who knows' because he is just that! They're still there, coffee is still offered, the atmosphere is still friendly and there are still classics coming in and out! Prices might have risen very slightly since Fiasco's post but not much! Also happy to guide anyone as it is tricky to find.

While we're on about good mechanics just had a great guy here doing some work on my bike.
First thought he had was he was a mechanic not a parts supplier so if I wanted him to get parts he would, if I supplied them no problem.
Labour £32/hr. & he came to me with a mobile workshop.
Answered all my stupid questions, fixed stuff that could quite easily have led to more expenditure.
A really great guy. Chris Sidwell 07947 244780 ;D

I'll be there in the morning; the Divvy goes in for it's MOT Have been a regular user of their service for all my bikes since I made that first post back in 04. The roads are not so much fun now, since the cull on the NSL's !! Dave

Divvy staying in the Kimble hospital for the week Nothing too serious, just an advisory on the MOT that I decided to get sorted straight away. My 95 Divvy was just about the newest bike there when I went this morning, some real old gems ! Dave

Divvy staying in the Kimble hospital for the week Dave I just signed-in to check how it'd gone . What was the advisory? (That 900 had been thrashed, you know .)

Or did you phone a friend before you did? ;D

Bet the old gems weren't quite as old as the two for sale outside Mike Wheelers in Witney this afternoon - a 1929 Calthorpe and a 192? Raleigh. Both looked like they've spent the intervening years in a farmyard, so don't think they came with an MoT!

Had both bikes MOT'd by Dave in the last 4 months, excellent service as always. Can't believe it's 6 years since I started going there!
