Hello! :-)
After having a break from riding when i sold my ZRX1200, I've jumped back in, but with a cheap and hopefully solid Diversion 900. I'm not looking for too many thrills, but just a comfortable ride to get me out and about to do a bit of tourism (living in France). The bike has only done 32,000 km; it's a bit tatty, but nothing serious. It runs well, but it does seem to be blowing the 'signal' fuse regularly. I've taken a bit of the plastic off today and will look a bit further this weekend. The only clue that I have is that it happens when the fuel level is low, so i'm wondering if it's something to do with the level sensor. I'll take the tank off this weekend and have a nose.
Cheers all ;-)
Gary.

Hi Gary, and welcome to the site. Can't help with your electrical problem, but I'm sure once sorted the D9 will give long reliable service. Just for your information the fuel gauge on these bikes are fragile - mine packed up about 15 years ago. Not sure whether the low fuel light works, as I tend to set the trip when refuelling, then start looking for fuel when I have covered around 170 miles. I reckon from full the bike will do in excess of 200 miles. Probably more. There are generally few problems with the bike. One is that the centre stand corrodes if not looked after. And like a lot of other bikes, the brakes need to be looked at regularly. Yours seems to have very low mileage. I have heard it said they take a bit of wearing out. There is a long time member on here namely JTB had two D9's with massive milages on both, but not heard from him in a while. (Hope ur ok if ur reading this John). Anyway good luck with your bike and I hope it serves you well. PS you might need to visit the gym cos they are quite heavy when shoving them about. Atb

Hello Gary and welcome to the site. Interested in you saying you are living in France. Where abouts? I have two XJ900s, one in UK and one in France. Not getting to ride it so far this year, but the UK one has been out a few times. We are in Dept 34. The one in France is a local bike, after my previous one developed a problem of cutting out after getting very wet on a trip to Spain. Even totally stripped could not find the problem, so let it go for €300 to a local who was willing to risk it stopping. It seems to be still going as see it about when we are there. As commented above they are heavy, but also solid. Go about 250 mile on a full tank if not blasted. Also good for two up and long tours. SWMBO enjoys the ride, finds it reasonably comfortable, and it can carry all the luggage we need. Cheers, Mike

Cheers for the messages :-) I'm happy with it so far and think it'll be perfect for what i want. I'm happy to tinker as well, so it's a nice little project that I don't have to rely on, so i can fix it when I want should anything major arise. I might take it to the UK at some stage, but I'm down in the south west, so it's a bit of a schlep and I'm not sure that i have the appetite for such trips now. I'm aiming at mainly touring in the region and into northern Spain.

I played around with it at the weekend and saw that the fuel level sensor has a plug connector just underneath, so i disconnected that and the fuse is not blowing now. I filled up the tank and took it out for a run and so far it's ok. The fuel sensor could be a red herring of course, but I'm pretty confident it's not. Fingers crossed anyway!
