Hi
So pleased I’ve found this group. Currently own 3 XJ600N (1997, 1998 and 1999, 2 blue, 1 red).
I’m looking at picking up a non running xj600s for spares. Does anyone know if it’s an easy modification to swap the clocks / fairing from the 600s on to the N? My 1998 N is currently being rebuilt as it was a barn find having covered only 2600 from new ! Any help or advice gratefully received.
Thank you in advance
Dr David

Hi Dr D, welcome.
Not an easy swap-in, swap-out job I understand. The top yoke is different, to accommodate the different clocks. So some work needed there. The fairing fixtures won't exist on the 600n either, so I'm not sure how you'd mount it. Would need brackets welding onto the 600n frame I think.
With time & inclination, I guess anything is doable - but certainly not simple or straightforward.

It’s just I’ve got the parts (well most of). Think I will stick to leaving it ‘as is’ and get another S to restore.
