I have a problem with Tom Tom Rider 2 SD card. I bought a 1 GB SD card and bought (£40) and downloaded the TT France map onto it.
The problem is when I insert the France card into the TTR, it tells me graphically to remove it and to replace the original (UK/Eire) card.
I know the TTR has no internal hard disc and all data is stored on the memory card. I am wondering if the original card not only has UK/Eire on it but also all the other data to get the thing working?
Any help greatly appreciated, or I'll have to take my old Garmin Street Pilot 3 to Normandy next month! ?

Hi Jim
Have you got a card reader for the SD card ? (like you use for a digital camera / MP3 player card)
If you did have one, or could get one, you could copy all the info on the original card over to a folder on your PC, then copy all the operation files onto the new card, along with your new maps.
Hopefully someone in the know will be along soon - Dah Dit ??

Can you not just plug the TT into your PC via USB? (If you don't have a card reader).

Dave - yes I have got a card reader, a Garmin one that Apricot flogged me. I'll try that.
El Fuego - Yes i can plug the TTR into a USB port. Thats how I downloaded the France map to TTR. It does show whats on the card, but only POI, cameras. language list etc. Does not show any operation data.
Thanks for the feedback lads. Appreciated. I'll try uploading the card to a folder and take look at it.
