Hi is it possible to fit lowering links on a 600 divvy

Assuming you're talking about the XJ600F/N and not the later XJ6, I think the answer is not as such. The rear shock is connected direct to the swing arm, not via links and a rocker. The Fazer 6 is similar, but I've never owned a XJ6 so that might be different.
So the only way to lower it is to fit a modified mounting bracket at one end or the other, or use a shorter shock unit. I don't know if either of those have been tried, or if anyone supplies suitable parts.
I think one or two people have fitted a smaller diameter rear wheel (from a Fazer 600), but in that case I think the fatter tyre takes the overall diameter back up to around the same dimension.

An alternative option is to have the seat cut down, a choice made by some in the past. I think you can gain an inch that way.
I know Doofer did that - she may be able to advise the pros and cons of that choice.

i think its probably my own fault for being such a short git but i have to say i once had a pre divvy xj 600 and didnt find that too bad

Just be advised, those on EBay won’t fit the 600n’s you have been looking at , only the modern ones (2009 onwards).
