I bought a Tom Tom in the USA and now need to buy a UK Map Card on SD as I come home. I'd greatly appreciate any advice on the best/cheapest source of a UK (& preferably Europe) map. With thanks in advance RMJ

As TomTom maps have to be registered to an individual device it is not a good idea to buy second hand as, if the original owner installed and registered the map, you may have great trouble getting authorisation from TomTom for your install. I would recommend getting the europe map on DVD direct from TomTom. Its about £90 and you have the backup available

It turns out that down loads over the internet - from the TomTom site - are quite reasonable and on sale at the moment. I'll be downloading all of europe when I have a suitably sized SD Card. Cheers, R

Have a look on flabay - the maps & latest software to drive them are often available for a tenner or so. Just make sure that you get the correct version for your particular device, and also get the key codes. If you buy "used" or rip off copies you won't be able to upgrade legally but with copies available for a tenner or so you can buy the latest version instead when you want to upgrade. Not that I am advocating software piracy mind you! I recently tried to get some customer support out of Tom Tom - what a waste of time! All you get is moronic auto responses and little real help!

Went to load tt on new phone and it wouldn't work. So onto TT which is either a belgium number or web. Still not resolved. Never ever gonna buy there stuff again. very dischuffed in Horsham

Thanks guys, lots of help here, much appreciated, and thanks for the PM. I'm now a bit worried about changing the phone details on the blue-tooth thingy as I'm about to upgrade. RMJ
