Hi, I've acquired a '99 (T) Divy 900 with 41k miles on the clock from the estate of my father-in-law. He was a lifelong biker and this would been have his next project had he not been crippled by a sudden and severe stroke six months before he passed away last year.
I've decided to restore it to its former glory as a tribute to him. Started and ran OK (albeit a bit rough due to stale fuel). The engine is sweet as a nut, no leaks, smoke or smells, absolutely nothing to suggest any problems. No. 1 downpipe was blowing but not a biggie to fix. The LCD clock display is bleeding as well which could be a challenge to fix with my lack of electronics skills...
Only discovered a couple of potential issues so far - (1) the electrics seem weak (on a fully charged battery with the engine running, the headlamp dims when the indicators are operated), (2) the swingarm bearings appear shot, (3) the suspension link bearings are dry as a nun's wotsit, (4) there is corrosion on the frame and rear shock where it's been exposed to road dirt, salt etc.
Pics on my OneDrive below.

I'd be interested to know what you think as the project progresses, any tips, suggestions or advice welcome.
Cheers Steve

Hi BB, always happy to see a D9 getting a new lease of life 🙂.
No surprises about the rear end corrosion, sadly! I don’t think they are any more prone than most other bikes, but they do need looking after if they aren’t to seize.
Good luck with the project & keep us updated 🙂.
