OK, got 'em.
They're round, not oval like the original ones and even though they're a little thicker, they fitted more easily and more comfortably into the helmet - reducing pressure on the big 'ole lugs.
As regards volume - yep, an improvement - turned up to 11 you could say. More like 15 really, as with my ear plugs in (the whole reason for why I tried them) audio was much more erm,...audible at speed.
Only really got to try them with music player on - no phone, radio, sat nav or pillion......but even with some of the quiet stuff that was playing on the minidisc (Radio 3's Andy Kershaw's program & 2 x Late Junction episodes) the improvement was noticeable.
More straightforward than having to use extra amps etc.
Begs the question as to why they aren't standard?!?!?!?
Oh yes,
Profit making via selling accessories. It is a business after all.
This Yorkshireman's pleased with the results.

I'm curious - what Autocom system do you have.
I've got a kit200 duo and the music volume from my minidisc plyer and mp3 player seems fine, even at motorway speeds.

ActiveSmart7 - An earlier model to yours.......
With ear plugs in the volume was just a tad low for quiet stuff - phone calls sometimes - so I'm hoping this will make the difference.
Yours will probably have a better amp / louder setting I suppose.
Either that or I'm going mutton.....

Thanks Biff,
Had seen those, but I wanted to avoid extra wiring for now, and hoped the speakers would do just the job........but will be interested in a review anyway - $65 at exchange rates nowadays looks good value and the adjustable volume knob a nice feature.
Good luck.

Biff i have an amplirider, had one for a couple of years, run mp3's and phone from my garmin zumo through the amplirider, then into a Intaride rp1, its good, but the intaride speakers arnt up to it, so maybe thinking of custom in ear monitors and the new bluetooth type system from intaride, when its available, the amplirider is good as you can turn the volume up or down, depending on the speed your going. ;D but, why doesn't the zumo do this already

Update to this......
Different minidisc, more rockin' music on it - ripped from CD's rather than recorded from radio at an arbitary level.....cracking.
and "Station Commander" rang me from home this morning whilst travelling back on the bike just to say have a safe trip - Bless her - the volume was exactly what I'd hoped it would be, much clearer calls now.
Awesome. If you have an Autocom and ride with earplugs in these are a worthy purchase....what a difference - nice and LOUD - especially on my Active7 Smart setup.
