I am after some advice if possible.
I am in the process of doing my valve clearance on a 1997 XJ900.
Three of my intakes are out of spec and tight. This issue I am having after doing the maths is the shims required are between the 0.5mm increments you can get and if I go .05 shim below or .05 shim over it is putting the clearance either slightly tight or slightly loose on re-measure.
Can you get shims in lower increments steps as I can't seem to find anywhere online and if not are they better being on the loose or tight side?
Thanks
Jules

Loose ( i.e a wider gap than needed ) is always better than too tight ( smaller gap than needed )
