The run will now be on Monday 27thth August, sorry to those who can`t make that date. Tested the run today and glad I did as I have had to rethink a 5 mile stretch as even I had my doubts about it. Sorry guys but there will NOT be be Pancakes involved as there is a problem with booking. So we will be going to Fishermans Chip Shop in Conwy, there are plenty of pubs close by aswell. The start will from a McDonalds on the A34 McDonalds and the start time will be 10am. 1st part is around 44 miles to the Viaduct at Trevor. Viaduct2nd part is around 65 miles to the Fishermans Chip Shop for lunch. Fishermans Chip ShoplinkThere is a fuel stop at around 120miles if anyone needs it, other wise there is the service station at Oswestrey. 3rd part has a stop of at Balla for a 10 mins then onto Oswestrey and will be around 70 miles. The run ends at Oswestrey services but obviously will continue back to Stoke for us and any who want to continue that way. I will phone the Pancake house and ask about a booking( they were closed this morning well it was 9am when I got there.)

Very interested in the run - not sure about the pancakes though . Thus speaks a man who clearly has not previously been on one of Reaper's Welsh runs. Take a look here: LINK

I'm not one for trying stuff - my family will vouch for that - but could always make an exception

Sunday 26th is the Rhyl air show so some areas of N. Wales will be very busy. (The Borders, of course, may well be quiet)
A Bank Holiday run might persuade me out of "Retirement"

IIRC you have to book for the pancake house - especially on a bank holiday weekend Seem to remember there was a deadline for arrival when we went on one of El Bandito's runs years ago beacause we had to be there in time or lose the booking.

Passed, but pads on rear are barely legal.
Got a new set being order for tomorrow, so fingers crossed !!

Beemers tend to wear rear pads faster than the front as the bikes combined braking puts the rear on 1st.
Glad to hear it passed.

Due to the soggy weather forecast for tomorrow if it doesn't improve I'll rather be a fair weather rider and watch the rain from the sofa So may not turn up tomorrow unless the weather gods change their mind.

Having checked the weather and having alked to some of the riders that were going to attend I have decided to cancel tomorrow and change the run to Monday the 27th. Same time same location but just 24hrs later as the weather looks to be in our favour for that day.
Sorry for this but it looked like being myself and maybe 2 others that would turn up tomorrow for a very very wet day.

Thanks Paul, you know it makes sense...
Standing there trying to eat fish and chips in the pouring rain isn't much fun when the paper tears and disintegrates.
See you Monday!

Thanks Paul. Good decision.
I won't be able to attend tomorrow because of family commitments.
Have a good ride everybody.

I was going to ask a stupid question like, "whereabouts on the A34 is the McDonalds starting point".
Then i put my reading glasses on and saw you'd included a link. Didn't realise my eyes were that bad.
This fair weather biker is planning to join you tomorrow, excellent decision.

354 miles on Yamaha's so-called "Comfort" seat. My bum hurts!
Thanks everyone for today. Nick and I had a great time. Hopefully he'll be on his own bike next time. He's got his licence at last!
See you again.

Fabulous day, enjoyed every minute, good selection of roads, many thanks to Reaper for a cracking job, thanks to Andy for back marking duties.
Thanks tj63 for the unexpected company to the start, and speighty for the company back to the A50/A38 junction where we parted ways.
Thanks to everyone else without whom it would have been a lonely ride 😀
Here's to the next outing
Regards Andy

Sounds like you all had a great day. Sorry i missed the start. Hope i didn't hold you up, apologies if i did.
I traveled up through Burton, cut across to uttoxeter, then up the A50. Came off at the A34 with an esso garage to the left, then got lost.
Gave up looking at half past and decided i'd go anyway. asked for directions to the A525 and ended up on the M6 northbound.
Eventually found trevor, the place not the person, had a cuppa & headed of to conwy. got there at 14:40, had fish & chips & headed home.
perhaps i need one of them satnav thingys

Almost 300 miles yesterday - blimey, no wonder I slept well!
Nice visit to Conwy (and all the other bits either side) having never stopped there previously. I'll have to return and have a proper mooch around there sometime soon.
Glad Dave managed to catch up with us later on and wasn't left deflated...
Fantastic day out, thanks to Paul and all!
