Following on from my oil cooler saga, which is knackered as it has gone at the threads for the oil pipe bolts. :-( I have bought a cooler for a "pit bike". I need to make a bracket to hold this on to the bike and I think that drilling a couple of 6mm holes in the bracing plate between the top of the two frame front down tubes would be ideal. Thoughts?

yup i'd do it, pretty sure that not going to affect the integrity in any way.

The brace just helps to stiffen the suspension, because it helps stop flex in the fork downtubes, and as Flymo says shouldnt affect the integrty as the bolts will restore any minor such loss, which is negligable.

I think Gazza means the triangle plate at the top, not the fork brace. The idea sounds ok to me.
