Sunday 22nd July be there... or don't be somewhere else, either way, see you there starting and finishing at Pavilion car park adjacent to peak district mining museum ( 196 South Parade, Matlock Bath, DE4 3NR ) and opposite the fishpond freehouse. Think I might dip my toe in the run organisers pond again, strongly considering doing a peak District run towards the end of july. Starting and finishing in Matlock bath. Probably yondermans cafe for lunch. Pre / Post lunch stops to be confirmed.... The pre Lunch stop will be Monsal Head so bring your camera the view is spectacular. The Post Lunch stop will be a YDC Favorite Wetton Mill. It's likely to be a more technical run rather that a high speed blast, looking at possible routes around the 130 ish total mile mark, its a very meandering route. Flymo edit: Starting and finishing at Pavilion car park adjacent to peak district mining museum ( 196 South Parade, Matlock Bath, DE4 3NR ) and opposite the fishpond freehouse. Meet at 9.30 for a 10am start.Lunch should be around 12.30 there will be a morning and afternoon stop.

okies possible date s are 15th 22nd or 29th July i'm available for all. probably meet up 9-30am ish for a prompt 10-00am off, aiming for lunch at 1-00pm the route is going to be strongly based on this... 132 miles so everyone should be able to do it on a tank. there's 2 petrol stations in matlock Sainburys and an esso, and a Murco near cromford if you come in the other way. hoping to do a reccy tomorrow to have a look for any problems, as you can see its a very meandering route deliberately missing out many of the roads favored by the ninja warriors and the fair weather club route includes some single track work. Matlock bath - Monsal head - Yondermann Cafe (lunch ) - Wetton Mill - Matlock Bath. Yomdermann Cafe menu Click Here Has veggie options also

First reccy done, set off early this morning.. kinda brassed off that the Goyt Valley road is close to traffic between 11am and 4pm on sundays and bank holidays its a lovely scenic road along the valley... Anybody fancy breaking tradition and doing the run on a SATURDAY instead have to scratch one road as it was 80% gravel and 10% road and 10% #@#*&@~@! .. Flymo. from today slightly filtered.

Sounds like my kinda road, know a few of them in the peaks one even has 5 farmers gates on it which realy pi**ed the good lady wife off. As for the Goyt Valley road being closed to traffic between 11am and 4pm on sundays and bank holidays it`s been that way between May & September for a few years now.

Me didn't know however the longer way round was quite technical, even if it wasn't as pretty... means i get to replan the bit of route after cuz im gonna go straight over when i get to the main road Flymo So about Saturday any takers

So about Saturday any takers Well, you decide the day, 'cos you can't hope to get consensus . For the record I have such a rubbish social life that I can do either day 😕. You could always do that road as a Saturday bimble!

I'm sure it started doing that before I got wed. If you do ride up the Goyt, when you get up to the top end of the one way bit, look out for Hen Harriers and Short Eared Owls. Also keep an eye out for the B4st4rd Gamekeeper - don't let him use you as a guide to where the Harriers are, he kills them.

I may be being thick here but I can't find mention of an actual meeting point in Matlock Bath. I know it isn't a big place but it is big enough to go wrong in.
Any thoughts?

Sorry I have recurring problems( 40 years on from being forced off my Suziki GT 185 and the electric start neatly pinning my left ankle underneath) so its gone all horrible again and very painfull to boot /or in boot .
That added to knee issues, bad circulation ticker and diabetis,as well as COPD issues, plus Bev will assert my actual arrival at any given point pinned is sometimes( ok ofttimes) a matter of great uncertainty!
so not wishingto be a liabilty to self or others, am very regrettably bailing this one but hope you have an excellent sunny weekend wherever the start point is and goes to .
Kind Regards GAv
