Hi all Sort version. I ripped out the fuel sender assembly many years ago. I have had an idea to turn the fuel gauge on the dash to a volt meter. (leaving original fuel gauge but using it to display voltage, Empty to Full type thing) So my question is does anyone know the voltage range that the sender sends to the fuel gauge on the dash?

Best I can tell the voltage range is 0 - 12 volt
Maybe I will try replacing the guts of the gauge with an analog after market volt gauge.
As far as aftermarket fuel senders go FLOAT FREE FUEL GAUGE, hydrostatic pressure (Google search) looks like it might be worth a try also there is Ultrosonic fuel level meter

I think the range it would have to cope with will be up to 14 volts, when engine speed goes over about 3000 revs, as the alternator does its thang. I'm not sure how you'd go about it, but best of luck 🙂.

I am just going to buy volt meter and leave the fuel gauge as is.
