Looks like you had the pass to yourselves.
Debs, in the van, might have a different opinion

I've stuck some pics in the right place.

I had a long drive on Friday, after being in Cornwall in the week, but arrived in time for a beer. Uneventful if dull slog up the M1, with the M6 being closed.
It was rather a pleasant start on Saturday morning. Following Ian & Ian from Cockermouth to the start at Whitehaven - my only stop along the way being to pick up Ian's baffle which shot out & rolled into the verge.
We got to the first tea-stop a bit early, had to wait for it to open, but tea & cake saw me refreshed to continue our journey.
That was the Ravenglass & Eskdale Steam Railway - nice spot with a great view from the platform.
The KE100 hesitated a couple of times & I thought it might not make the journey, but pressed on until at one fuel stop I volunteered to drive the van. Mac in his wisdom gave me the Suzuki scoot instead & so I proceeded to run it in for him for the rest of the route. The KE100, newly fuelled-up, rode in the van next to another, already resting, KE100.)
Curious thing, fuel stops. I've always found them expensive affairs but this weekend nearly all the fuel turned out to be free. To me, at least. Weird
.
It was a shame Ian hadn't been more conscientious about fuel - he ran out on Scarborough sea front & the van was called upon again.
We got to the hotel & had a secret vote to place Ian in an isolation room for the night, he being a most noisy snorer. The rest of us therefore had a good night's sleep after beers & food. That is, once the 30th birthday party immediately below us turned the noise down a bit!
Sunday morning & all fed & watered three of us set off on the return journey, sending Mac & Debs off to do their shopping.
It was on the Sunday return run that around midday the heavens opened & remained so all the way home. Also, one of Ian's engine bolts went AWOL. The engine bounced up & down one the other bolt when he kick-started it
. Oh, & its tickover wasn't very subtle either
.
Ian's waterproofs weren't. Nor were my boots. I don't think anyones gloves were.
So it was nice to arrive back at Cockermouth & get out of our wet clothes & await Mac & Debs arrival with my nice dry KE100
.
I decided to drive back home in the evening & the M6 was not too busy, got home 10:30pm knackered but pleased I joined in on another C2C adventure
