On the run up, we wondered if too many runsters were making their way North, filling up the roads along the way:
But no, in fact only 4 bikes turned up, but all primed & serviced to allow for a glorious hassle-free weekend of fun:
So after a short while we stopped for some additional routine maintenance work. In this case robbing thenot really Honda 70 ....
.... of it's kick start so it could replace the snapped one off the Madass:
So with the Honda having electric start, all was well & we carried on.
In the wilds, we parked-up to refuel:
Maybe a premonition, but Rob decided against refuelling his bike at this point.
Ian, Mac & I got some way ahead, so Ian & I stayed put & sent Mac off to see what the hold-up way.
Time passed, but the bike & van didn't!
Eventually, Mac arrived, Debs in the van too, with Rob riding shotgun. Broken down? Puncture? Loose nuts?
Nothing so mundane. Rob's bike decided it wanted to become a mono-cycle :
Apparently, Rob went over the bars when the front wheel decided to give up & collapse in a heap . Battered & bruised
he got on the phone to his Pops & arranged transit back home.
Later we dragged the bike out of the van & chucked it in Ian's garage.)
In the finest traditions, the remaining three carried on, me clearly so far ahead of Mac that I could snap him approaching from afar:
However, he was too quick for me to pan when he shot past :
(I think he's waving!)
Later, Ian is naturally concerned that his kick starter might be damaged in Rob's prang!
But tea & cakes supplied by Debs restores his composure:
Ian terrorises a car park with his antics:
There's Mac's very own KE100 in that van, there is!
You'll have to ask him why he preferred his chicken-chaser Suzuki. Myself, I had no idea they made a 99cc one of those .
