I've just got a quick question as i'm interested in getting a 600 divvy is the airbox on the 600 located in the same place as on the 900? i'm pretty sure it is but i have to make sure before i bother dragging myself all the way up to inverness to check this bike out. I've asked the guy who's selling it but he's not got a clue

I haven't an answer to be honest only my XJ may well be up for grabs, only one slight problem, it's near Harwich( no nor Harwick) in the delightfull county of Essex.

The 600 Divvy airbox is under the tank, like the 900. For two bikes sharing the same 'Diversion' name, the air filter is one of the few elements that are actually the same item. (Note air filter - I'm not sure that the actual air box is exactly the same!) (You pick strange criteria for deciding on whether to go view a prospective new bike ).

(You pick strange criteria for deciding on whether to go view a prospective new bike ). I thought that too! If I was looking for a bike and got the same response from a seller I'd leave well alone. If he/she doesn't know where the air filter is, it doesn't for bode well for a servicing regime.

Not everyone is as tight as you, some do actually use dealers to service their bikes, because of either a lack of skill, or plenty of money

haha the reason for the odd criteria (which i'm well aware is odd) is that i want as little electrics/gubbins/mechanisms around the rear sub frame as possible, unless ist easily able to be moved since i'm wanting to do a project which involved dropping the seat down quite a way into where the air box/ filters are on quite a lot of vintage bikes. i noticed that the only thing on my 900 thats under the seat that cant move easily is the battery so i thought this would be perfect! but the person who wants the bike after i'm, done with it wants a 600cc bike. the reason he doesnt know where it is is that he's just traded his boat for the bike because his boat was taking too long to sell and he thought he'd be able to sell the bike quicker. which means while he doesnt know much about the bike he might have the price a touch low for something in great condition, or be able to be haggled easily, plus i'm uite handy and i know what i'm looking at so if its a piece of crap i wont buy it

PrincesPunk, I am near inverness,(15 mins away), give me a shout if you want me to take a look and take extra photo's of the bike before you come up. Might save you a 6 hour round trip !

I still wouldn't deal with someone who didn't know feck all about their steed (though considering PP'S explanation seems genuine enough). Stealers are usually used by the idle rich, more often than not, residing in southern counties.
