They say that a picture paints a thousand words - well, here's some from the coast to coast run, but believe me when I tell you that they only tell a tiny part of the adventure Setting off to the start, from Ian's - this journey itself was further than the KE100 had previously taken me: At the start, there was Mac & Debs & the support van. We girded our loins for the journey that lay ahead: Looks like Mac was still in the process of loin girding whilst the first casualty beat a hasty retreat into the back of the van: Ian SNR was very annoyed with the unscheduled delay: Robert was clearly overjoyed a while later, to be able to practice some mechanicking on his weekend off: Some time later, Ian JNR had his moment in the sun, Ian SNR stepping into point out that those bolts weren't loose & it didn't pee oil at the start & that there was no warranty given or implied: But there were times to celebrate - Ian JNR atop Sutton Bank: Alas, not all made it this far. I wasn't prepared to head back down the bank to see what was occurring! With the van by this time fully loaded, we made it to Scarborough : Headed off to the campsite & pitched: 'twas a bit foggy a little after dawn as I brewed up: It brightened up a bit & whilst the owners of the campsite took Robert's engine to bits, the remaining three of us set off for the return journey .

In no particular order, Everyone is a little apprehensive at the start! Mac's Ap50 lasted less than 5 miles before the awesome power destroyed the clutch, so he brought out his sleeper, the downside of riding it, is one leg becomes shorter than the other! breakfast was skipped, because the KFC was closed, the bikes made it to Reeth, sadly Robs Mad ass wouldn't start, Ian tells Martin not to overtake him every time we get to a hill, that didn't stop him!, we parked next to a shonky BMW at Helmsley just to show him up! The S90 looked good, but it's hill climbing ability was not so good! eventually the three successful hit the coast in Scarborough, Ian jnr seemed impressed, Mac lead us to the campsite using his sat nav, whilst all the parking places in Scarborough got filled up, we put the tents up, me looking for alcohol, Robert posting his woes on Facebook, before calling dad's recovery service, tents up, obligatory post of bike and tent, the survivors shot, we went to the local pub for food and beer, we made breakfast, we did offer Martin some and we said we would pick out the sausages, but he declined, The three survivors headed home, the S90 was really slow up hills, so Martin suggested we go the hilly way, Martin looking smug as his steed has survived,

Waddyamean? The journey from your back yard to the van, then the journey out of the van to Ian's ? Congratulations to all participants for their endeavours. Ps, will the fact that Martin's bike survived ever be forgotten, ( bet it isn't in his drunken ramblings on future tours ). Pps, great stories and pics guys and gals.

Waddyamean? The journey from your back yard to the van, then the journey out of the van to Ian's ? Eh ? This was a Coast to Coast run - Ian's place ain't on the coast so we had to ride to the start, which was on the coast . RE: Ian's pics of me looking smug ....... I thought I always looked that way .

I have already had the S90 apart to fathom why it was so slow up the hills, valves seem fine, main issue seems to be that the top two piston rings were stuck, allowing it to blow past the piston, I have ordered a new piston and a set of rings, then I just need to find the miss firing issue!

Great stuff! I'm almost tempted to look for a suitable steed so I can join you next year. Most of the roads we used were quite suitable for the speeds we were doing, some of the roads used we were as fast on the little bikes as you would be on bigger bikes, at times we were being held up by traffic, including at times other bikers, a lot of it was making the most of the power we had and trying not to slow down and lose momentum on tight bends!

I have already had the S90 apart to fathom why it was so slow up the hills ..... I had to keep overtaking you on the hills because if the KE100 motor wasn't under a load it 'knocked' somewhat. I think some of this quite rough scoring might be responsible: New piston on order - trusting that the 2-stroke oil level is properly kept an eye on in future .

Use some of that scotchbrite stuff to rough up the barrel, so you have swirly marks on it, helps to retain oil and bed the new piston rings in!

Coast 2 Coast 2016 mode of transport has been purchased and collecting Saturday Coast to Coast ? That's Old hat, Aren't we going for something ambitious* ?
I hope your new steed isn't pushing the CC boundaries.
* I'd probably settle for getting as far as getting the bike out of the van

Technically I have been following your regime of not owning the bike you carry out the run on.;D However I would class this as a new system comprising long term preparation and planning to avoid pushing the thing up Sutton Bank

Found another baby Gamma I thought the gamma was one of a kind, specially imported an all that! Shame I thought it might be a garelli tiger cross, I was thinking you would be trying for a new record in dumping your break down in the back of the van!
