Hi all
I'm putting a universal headlight on my old 92 Divvy 600S. The current wires are Black/Green/Yellow however the new light wires are Blue/White/Green. I could guess but may blow fuses so can anyone help?
Cheers

The old one will have a 3 pin plug, just match up the colours in relation to the old and new plug, otherwise test with a multimeter, though there is nothing to blow if you get it wrong, as the 3 prongs are isolated from the holder, and all connected through the filaments, so if you connect wrong, you can get the low beam on when operating high and vice versa, but it won't blow any fuses!

So Green was earth so I went Green to Green, then Blue to Black & Yellow to White. As you said the high beam is now Low beam & vice versa. However when I swapped the Yellow & Blue around it stays the same. High beam as Low beam & Vice Versa. I'm not a technical wizard far from it but that ain't right surely. It don't make much odds as I know both beams work but is it a failure on an MOT?

Keep swapping them until it works right, don't assume that the new green wire is earth, but there are only 3 wires, so it can only have 9 ways in which it can go, as far as I know, As you hold and view the backside of a H4 bulb...there are three pins in a "U" shaped pattern that stick out and face you. Right side vertical is ground....left side vertical is high beam....and bottom horizontal is low beam...
