So I went tho the Stafford show Saturday, there were a couple of suppliers I wanted to meet and besides I like old clunkers, so a butchers at them was on the cards,
I like unusual bikes, so didn't take much pictures of the RD250's that there were loads of, this was an unusual suzuki
with its early space helmet dash, later had the 750 style ones,
This Gt750 had an interesting exhaust,
I have never seen one of these before, but I likey!
There seemed lots of CBX owners club, this one wasn't amused when I pointed out that this engine needed work if it was ever going to run!
It Grieves me to say that I quite like this trial bike!
I mentioned to the Xs owners club that my mate used to have one but had carb trouble, they asked where my mate lived, one of them even offered to send their 4yr old son around to fix the problem, I told him that he had moved on to better bikes in the form of a CB750F, I am sue everyone in the hall heard the laughter!
Sunbeam's are one of the few British bikes from the 50's and 60's that I like!
I dream of owning a 30's bike though, all that open engineering and spindly frame, and who needs brakes, here is a few,
look at the engineering of that speedo drive!
I parked next to a hesketh in the car park cum grass field, unusual but a bit heavy looking, I would still like one though,
there was a nice guzzi on the club stand, actually I seen 4 of the same in the car park, they have a similar flowing style to the Sunbeams,
I spoke to the guy who owned this 750F, he seemed to think that honda's dont leak oil, have heavy clutches, he seemed a little weird, but not unlike all 750F owners I have met!
The Fizzie, is where it all started for me, mine was Baja brown though, the bike next to it, parked slightly behined the fizzi was an AP50, they were both for sale £3795 for the fizzie and £3995 for the APe, needless to say I hurried past!
Morini's are great, what's not to like,
The guy that does the Diversion spares, seemed to have lots more spares on his stall, still had the same bikes as last year though!
Then the style police showed up
This little honda seemed strange, C90 style forks and huge drum brake,
There were some lovely machined parts for sale, the huge twin leading drums were just under a grand!,
a couple of eldo's in the car park!
