I also have a trailer and my collection rates are very reasonable. However if you don't have my mobie number you're stuffed. How much not to divulge it ? All ready to go, I set off in an hour or so on the first leg of my journey upwards, towards Chez Trev : Oh lord, hope it's well fettled cos the D6, (along with my sat nav and tankbag), is currently in Welsh Wales ! I already have it!

If it gets here I am well appointed, it's the bit between his house and mine I'm worried about ! No problem, just don't answer the phone.

the clan has arrived all intact, so far. Martins bike is a peach all things considered, I am sure I will be able to give him a push if needed tomorrow morning. Mind ewe depends on how much ale and steak enters the body to night

Knocked up at 5am by two of the clan who wanted an early start. Martin and Andy loaded up the bikes. After nearly splitting my sides with laughter at watching Andy rolling about the floor trying to get his one piece rain suit on and waiting tentatively to see if Martins bike would start they finally set off, although by then it was 06 15am. Stay safe to you all on the Jock run, I only wish I could have joined you.

Back in the hoose after an outstanding time with the southerners. Weather behaved itself mostly, and two ferry trips included. The Corran and this amazing one. If your ever near it I can thoroughly recommend the road if you fancy an adventure. I'd put it above the Applecross road, seriously. Just watch out for tourists who insist a motorbike has to reverse up a 20% hill to let them avoid reversing down a hill to a passing place Well done Bob for assisting, and well done Fern for toughing out the drops and a seriously ancient boat. Mags and I had a terrific time with terrific company, you are all stars link. The collie dug has only 3 good legs now!

I got home last night about 8, and while you all were sunning yourselves on Skye I was suffering rain of biblical proportions between Glengarry and Corran Ferry, apart from that, a fine ride. A big thanks to Gordy and Mags for leading, and the backmarkers for doing their stuff. Brilliant roads and pretty good weather, and great company makes for a very successful JR, and it certainly was that! Charlie

Dont know about the Skye side , but at the Glenelg side, while you are waiting, go into the wee lighthouse and have a wee tea or coffee, not from a machine, but from flasks sitting on a shelf next to some nice home baked stuff, and pay by putting your money in a wee tin,not locked or tied down, next to the flasks. Brilliant! Charlie

I made it home at 6.00pm, had a fantastic time, on some fantastic roads, the weather held up great, thanks to Gordy for organising and to the back markers, to M40man for a go on his old Honda, which was surprisingly a good ride, even if I didn't know how fast it was going and it wanted to oil my boot, when I decided to take the R80, I thought it might be a bit slow and difficult to overtake, but it was neither,it never even used any oil, despite the thrashing it got, and a special thanks to the EU for spending all that money on the roads, that single track to the lighthouse was much improved over last time, though it was strange to pass a huge new distillery, that would never get planning permission in this part of the world!

What a great long weekend - meeting up with mates, riding some great roads, having solo adventures thrown in at the end. Thanks Gordy for organising another splendid outing . On Wednesday I started making my way North, to Trev's for my traditional peruse of his stock. Finding nothing to beat the trusty CB750, we headed off on Thursday morning with Andy to meet up with Keith. Keith was looking well, but insisted on delaying his pub attendance by attending a hospital appointment. When he turned up he found a few others there to greet him . A good night was had. Friday morning, Andy & I headed off from Keith's & made the long but enjoyable journey up to Fort William. We set off early & got there around 3pm. Friday night into the pubs, but not too late for us as we were knackered. Great runs on Saturday & Sunday - twisties, gravelly bits, fast sweepers, good stops, ferries, coffee & cake - all good stuff . Monday morning we skipped a full breakfast to head South at 7am. Got to Penrith (Red Rooster) around midday for essential sustenance. Andy had man-flu' and couldn't manage much of his late breakfast, but bless, him, he hardly complained about his illness all weekend . After food, down to junction 37 of M6 to head off onto the twisties through Hawes etc, then a bit of A1 & arrived Andy's around 3 - ish. Heading off on my own, I picked up the M1 for the final 135 miles. Horrible rain & spray on the M1 & the bike started to miss on a couple of pots. A squirt of maintenance spray & I carried on, but it was a slow lumpy ride, the remaining 100 miles or so, so I got off the motorway again preferring any breakdown to be on the A roads. Lumpy running, max speed around 50mph, the fuel consumption had plummeted. I hadn't considered this ! I ran out on the A43 near Silverstone. Quick call & my eldest came along with a gallon . I set off again, brimmed the tank at the next PFS & got as far as the A34 when the clutch cable snapped . Got home from there by essentially not stopping! Stalled at one set of lights, but going again by hitting the starter in second gear & paddling my feet. Got home 11:30pm. Very wet, rather tired, had a couple of the nicest cups of tea I have ever had then off to bed to recover . Thoroughly enjoyed the whole adventure - got a few things to sort out now though .

My first JR and it certainly won't be my last. Fantastic weekend, some stunning roads and breath taking scenery, at times I didn't know which to enjoy the most!
Thanks Gordy & Mags for being great hosts, and everyone else for making me so welcome.

My first JR and it certainly won't be my last. Fantastic weekend, some stunning roads and breath taking scenery, at times I didn't know which to enjoy the most! And there in lies the rub....I recall Max saying last year, " nearly binned it looking at the scenery!" You need to make a conscious decision....concentrate on the roads and negotiating the twisties or back off a tad and take in the scenery. The ideal would be a longer spell up there similar to when I last went to Fort William, 10 days in total, tootled about all week with the Mrs then had a bit more of a hoon on the runs themselves.

Well we finally got home, 1415 miles and £302.15 in fuel. Excellent weekend, well done Gordy and Mags good roads and apparently there was fantastic scenery. Thanks to the backmarkers, when they were at the back that is. Apart from a slight hiccup around Glasgow well done Ian for leading the homeward run.

1349 miles later, some sun, some rain, some motorway, some fast A road, some not so fast A road, some B roads, some friends, some old, some new, some fast, some slow...
It all adds up to a magnificent weekend, Thanks to Gordy and Mags for another successful JR run, and i hope the gods approve of more JR runs in years to follow, thanks to Martin for company there and back, the trip there was an adventure itself, the A819 is a good road :-) and part of the official diversion around the A82 roadworks... ( i can see why that bit needs widening )
the XJ6 has proved itself to be a worthy little 600 quite capable of everything i threw at it, and after all those miles pretty comfortable too.
thanks to everyone who attended, because as always it you guys and girls that make YDC and the meet ups the brilliant things they are.
regards Flymo

arrived home around 11.30am, only rain was the last few miles on M6 around corley services! fantastic weekend, well done Gordy & Mags for organising the brilliant weekend, Thank you all for the superb company, on the way to and from fort william and the bit in between. scenery just never fails to impress, even after so many visits. the ferry trips where enjoyable, but the roads to said ferry quite challeging, and the 'short ' road to the lighthouse, well, not that short, but entertaining. a huge thanks to ALL attendees and a bigger thanks to the organisers. JR15...10th aniversary PS if everybody who took photos, would kindly forward to my email address would be greatly appreciated.
