So as my wee rebuild progresses I'm ready to chuck the coils back on but in my haste on removing I've not noted down which one goes on which side and what wire colour goes to what coil.
Any body know what side the number coils go on to which plug ..........and why colour wires feed each coil ?
Thank you for reading
Mick

Any body know what side the number coils go on to which plug ..........and why colour wires feed each coil ? Thank you for reading Mick I am pretty sure (but not 100% sure) that the primary coil is for cylinders 1 and 4. The left coil (direction of travel). Please wait for someone else to confirm that though ! Wires for the coil that feeds the spark plugs for cylinders 1 and 4 are orange and red/white Wires for the coil that feeds the spark plugs for cylinders 2 and 3 are grey and red/white You could check the resistance if you need to identify the coils. The figures are for 20 degrees C so will be a bit "off" at this time of year. Primary coil resistance is 1.92 to 2.88 ohms Secondary coil resistance is 9.52 to 14.28 kilohms It does matter because the different resistances alter the ignition timing slightly (because there is no distributor) so you will know if they are the wrong way round.
