Not much point, no one would nick a D9 Try parking it in my road for an hour or two with the keys in it then Come in for a while, I will make you a coffee and give you a lift later. You will be needing a lift Not even Martins new Honda would be safe. Well, maybe that would ! Even Essex thieves have standards

Having to leave the keys in it says it all.

Having to leave the keys in it says it all. Could be worse, some Honda owners have to leave the keys, the log book and £50 in cash.

My 600 came with one under the seat. But I wasn't given a key,so out came the angle grinder and it is no more!

I had an Oxford one that fitted perfectly into the slots under the seat of my old 900 (I think it cost me £35 new !)

I had an ABUS lock that didn't really fit, but could be placed in one of the brackets. Worked great, until one day it got in way of the seat locking mechanism. I had parked ten minutes outside a shop and didn't bother with the U-lock. But I had placed the helmet on the hook under the seat. ):

At least they didn't steal the lock Forgot to explain the important part. No one stole anything at all. The seat did lock, but couldn't be unlocked. I found my self a long way from home and with the helmet locked to the bike. Was able to cut the seams on the strap with a knife and get the helmet free.

Was able to cut the seams on the strap with a knife and get the helmet free. Ah, my mistake, I though you meant someone nicked it but that is much worse. How did you manage to get the lock open? I have this irrational fear about locking my keys under the seat. Guess it comes from locking my keys in a car once. I normally have to do a semi OCD check 2 or 3 times before I lock the seat down

I normally have to do a semi OCD check 2 or 3 times before I lock the seat down Once I got home I was able to get it open with some fiddling and mild violence. I think the U-lock might have move a bit during the ride home. I've got the OCD as well. Never done it though. But I've left the bike with the keys in the seat lock a few times... And that U-lock is no more. Apparently you're supposed to remove it before you go for a ride.
