Hi there! Found yer excellent forum in my search for info. I'm from Sweden and have owned my 2001 XJ900S since last summer. Been to Germany back and forth as well as pretty much every day use as long as the temperature allows it. Ie as long as it's above freezing. About 14000 km in the ten passed months.
The bike itself is black with Fury mirrors, 4-1 stainless steel exhaust from Sandys spareparts with a Viper slipon (LOADS lighter, excellent fit, sound and finish EXCEPT the strap for the silencer...white...looks like its stolen from a fridge...gonna get it replaced asap), Wirth progressive forksprings and Metzeler Z6 Roadtec tires that will be replaced with Z8 Roadtec Interact next week.
Planning on removing the AIS, adding a rear hugger and upgrade the brakes. Not decided wether to get braided hoses and EBC-pads or swapping the calipers entirely yet though.
Best regards Tobbe

Welcome aboard, Tobbe. Looks like you have a pretty well sorted D9 . Blue spot calipers/Fazer master cylinder would be nice, but I was happy with the stock front brakes on mine. Junk that AIS though .

Hi and thanks! :-) Yeah that's what I was thinking. Seems to be the way to go :-) The blue spots can be taken from quite a few models it seems? :-) Hmm the right half of my dash lighting is busted and it's pretty annoying during late night rides. Might poke around in those bits when I remove the fairing for the AIS-slaughter. Any idea if the lighting in the dash is hard to replace? Was thinking about LEDs. Maybe blue ones. :-)

Haha tbh I HATE football. Overpayed primadonnas chasing a ball in a field and they almost DIE if they come into physical contact with the opposing team just to get magically healed if a man in a zebra t-shirt blows a whistle.. Naa...real sports smell of gasoline! Even I used to chase stuffs in fields though. But I was a rugbyplayer. Oh and a few years of martial arts so done my share of sweating in groups as well. To get back on track though, R1 calipers and MC fit right on with longer hoses?

done my share of sweating in groups as well. You'll fit in well on here then Tobbe; especially if you manage over for a Scottish run and choose to room-share with certain members . Welcome to the YDC. I used to have a poster of the blond girl out of Abba many years ago. And I quite like Volvos, too. The FH16 is a fine machine .

Hi Tobbe, & welcome!
Congratulations on your perfect English writing, with a Scottish accent ;D
Loved my time in Sweden in my days as a sailor. My wife and I were in Gothenburg when ABBA won the song contest. Talk about dancing in the streets? It was a great night, in spite of the price of beer.

Abba probably THE BEST composers and performers of modern times.
The instrument light bulbs can be replaced with LED bulbs. they are the type with no metal ferrule, I dont know the technical name. The bulb glass is flattened at one end with two contact wires.
The fairing has to be removed so buy a full set. One of mine needed a dab of solder to make a reliable contact.

I'd love to come over for a scottish run Just...driving on the wrong side of the road scares me a bit though hahah Btw? Scottish accent in my writing? Haha I wasn't aware of that at all Must be all my time playing online ABBA did their part loooong ago. I don't mean to belittle their meaning to the culture in any way but that kind of music really isn't my thing haha! Sweden and scandinavia have excellent musicians in alot of genres but I'm into aggressive metal mostly and this is where the blood of the norse really excells! Bands like Satyricon, Dimmu Borgir, Torture Division and Project Hate just to name a few. Our biggest export in music atm is in fact In Flames. They are only played in radiostations that ONLY play rock and metal here in sweden though...the general grey mass seems to piss their pants if something harder then Bruce Springsteen is aired... -.- A taste of what rattles the walls in my lair: Swedens finest Oh and btw...beer IS too expensive here!

Hi murvel!
I like your taste in music, my son was in a band for seven years and released two albums via metalblade records. They were called Anterior, toured around Europe several times, including Scandinavia, also toured Japan.
Toured with lots of American bands, played at bloodstock festival, toured India (massive metal followers). They were the only support band with Children of Bodom (on tour). I on many occasions drove the tour bus for them (happy days). Unfortunately they split in March this year.
Welcome to the forum and safe riding.
Steve
