If you are handy with a welder and pipe bender I can send you details of the one I made.

Thats great but you can't fit a numberplate & it would be better powder coated.

BTW, for anyone who hasn't seen Dave's bike up-close, if I had a choice between his homemade pannier rails & the Givi Wingrack, as good as the Wingrack is, it'd be Dave's. Quite an elegant thing, & neater .

Thanks Martin - appreciated. I found the wing rack ugly and put the sides cases way out in the breeze. My frame uses the pannier rack mounts under the side covers and 5/8" OD tube with 2mm walls. Odd sizes but that's what they had. I used a plumbers imperial pipe bender but 15mm tube would be a better bet. The cases fit with 5mm gap to the side panels but nothing touches where it should'nt. Next time I would make the vertical hairpins a bit longer. The shorter version can't use the Givi monolock latch. The numberplate works fine but has in the past had some dodgy plastic screws. These days it's well bolted on.

Just seen this thread. For what it's worth - I think it looks really good, and very neat. Can you remove the plastic side panels without removing the rack? I'm not thinking of ripping the wing rack off mine, but I wouldn't mind details of your rack, in case I have the urge to get into project mode. If you are attending any of the runs I'll make a point of having a proper look-see. Cheers

I bought Tigger's Beowulf cans he had on his TDM 900. I made my own adaptors for the link pipes.
Delkevic tri-oval cans look similar and they make links for the Diversion.
I am thinking of making these carriers to order but will need to think about how to do it without all the trial and error of making my own rack.
The side panels will come off the bike without taking off the carrier I use thick soft cloth to protect the paint. But its often easier to take the rack off first.

Hi CD, they look real smart mate, can I ask where you got or where to get a drop down mudguard thats on yours. I've seen loads on d6's and 9's but mine aint got one. They look like they screw or bolt onto the back mudguard? ? Thanks Buck Hi Tony, sorry to hi-jack your thread mate

Its the standard mudguard. It bolts on but the bolts generally rust solid & can be a serious pain to remove.
Bike looks loads better without it - until it rains when everything gets covered in grit & kak.

Hi CD, I've seen some models with a mudguard on and some without, find it a bit strange but prefer the bikes with them.
