Just wandering if any of you use an auto chain oiler,
like scott oiler, or manual Loobman etc.
Are there any to avoid.

I've put Loobman oilers on couple of bikes. Nice and simple and do the job well. And you can use gear oil, which is what DID recommend (if you can put up with the tomcat pong).
Disadvantage is the applicator, which is a Blue Peter contraption made of cable ties. They do a good job of oiling both sides of the sprocket, but wear out quickly and it's a real pain refitting the back wheel. I've heard of people substituting the Scottoiler double nozzle.
Whichever sort you go for, remember the chain will drip when you park it up. Also the oil will build up inside the front sprocket cover, together with lots of grit, forming a very messy abrasive paste.

I put a Scottoiler on the missus' Bandit. Works a treat, but the supplied instructions take a bit of interpreting. In fact it's easy to fit, but because the instructions are so poor, it seems harder than it is (if you see what I mean...?)

Loobman. Cheap, easy to fit and easy to use. I ddin't have any issues wih the cable ties when removing rear wheel. problems.. limited amount of oil in bottle, but press and go seemed to work. sometimes the stupid thing would just keep flowing(syphon) little tip, pin prick the top of the tube at it's highest point to stop the syphoning effect.
Scotoiler. need attaching to carbs for suction. slightly more difficult to fit, but fitment more or less the same as loobman. carries more oil, can control the flow, can buy a touring kit, which allows greater volumes of oil to be available, less filling up.
problems.. a few of us have had problems with their duel adapter.. it works, then it doesn't.. and the new floating one, i believe someone has destroyed at least two, so prob, best avoid. If it runs dry, need to prime.. hth

I use a Scottoiler with a loob tube on the TDM, works well most of the time, but does need unblocking occaisionally (probably down to my dirty sprocket)
On the Fazer I had the Scottoiler and touring kit, original chain and sprockets last about 26k miles from memory.

just got the Tutoro double so it looks ok, reckon just the double nozzle would work good on the loobman aswell and you can order a double replacement nozzle for about £3 - £4 all delivered cost me £17 so not bad all in all
