Well.....that was part of the planned route for last year but we had to miss it, due to emergency work on my bike in Exeter. I was thinking of using it for this run so there's a slim chance we may use that ferry! Is it a good service?
Where in Cornwall are you?

Its as quick crossing. as you can see from the piccs linked to the map the rivers not too wide there. Its easy to use, bikes go to the front and so are first off. fares dont seem to be on the website at the mo.
Im near Falmouth so could do a recce some time if you like.

I looked into it for last years run and it seemed to be a quick trip. Can't remember the prices though, but they weren't a lot. You're more than welcome to do a recce....any excuse for a jolly on a bike eh!? The start of the run will be from Exeter, are you wanting us to pick you up on the way through or will you be joining us from the start!?

probably on the way through depending on route. having some problem with the pillion and the idea of 'camping' (not keen) I'll have to have a look a bit deeper into the B&B thing, altho' July isn't going to be easy.

OK Peeps, Fern has said that we can come out to play ;D. But because of distance we will be stopping at Bridgewater Premier travel Friday night and meet up with you in Exeter. But camping the rest , so can you give me the camp site details you are using to save my brain. we will do the Monday run and sort out accommodation for the Monday night. Please tell me that there are no Cider farms involved Oh and Fern said if we are going over on kings hairy fairy somebody else can ride on and off the boat bob and Fern PS Chris (one of the sons) just came down stairs and said he might pop along as well for a giggle.

YEY!! Cracking stuff! ;D Here's the info for ya hinny: diversionclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=runsmeets&thread=6875&page=1We'll be staying with family on the Friday night near Exeter, but will be heading straight home on the Monday so if you guys need to stop off somewhere you're more than welcome to kip at ours. We live in Slough and I'm sure we can squeeze all the bikes in the garage! ;D There's no Cider Farms....but there was a beer festival last year at the Lands End camp site....don't worry though, I don't think it'll be on the go this year as we're going on different dates. Chris is more than welcome to come along, the more the merrier. I'm also sure either you or Dave will ride Fern's bike onto the Ferry for her! ;D Oh and Bob......both camp sites are pretty big so there won't be an issue with tents being close together, thus causing you to trip over the guy ropes!

Actually, last year it was a cider festival, and they had a Wurzels tribute band playing (The Cutlers) plenty of old english country games too Looks like we'll miss that this year, but there is a wee pub in the village that does half-decent food.

Only ya own ones m8. No point in getting 'T-Shirts' made for a run that won't have a lot of people going. You can always buy a YDC one though! ;D

Looks like you can put me down for Sat & Sun camping but it seems I might be a bit tired for the start in Exeter as I have only managed to find a bed 4 miles from Tescos for Friday night so it looks like another early start for me I thought I would get a bed in Taunton with my cousin but he is about to become a daddy for the first time around now so I thought it best not to impose but a mates sister lives just down the road and we called in on the way back from holiday in Cornwall last Sat so I took the oppertunity to beg a bed for the night & she said OK. OK, I've been and gone and done it !
Booked Premier Inns / Travelodges for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights in Exeter, Hayle and Barnstaple respectively. Didn't bother with cancellation insurance - so I've got to go !
Please add me, and Carol, to the sign up list (2 bikes if anyone cares)
I'm afraid we're likely to be getting off fairly smartish on the Monday to make sure we get home in the daylight.
Looking forward to it now I've done all the booking

Excellent news, mate We'll be up early on monday - not to get away, but to climb down the cliff for a walk to the private beach (and if you know north devon, you'll know how big the cliffs are.. )

In the morning its up to you as to whether you want to come down to our camp site and then join us on the jolly to Lands End. We'll be stopping in St Ives for breakfast and then we'll end up going past Hayle but the roads we're using are worth it! ;D When we go past Barnstaple we'll stop off and let you guys peel off if you want. We'll be leaving the camp site in Ilfracombe at 1000hrs on the Monday morning so you're more than welcome to head up there and ride back with us if you want. The timings and details will all be posted this week! ;D

Unfortunately, Bev can't come - He's just realised that Cornwall is in England, and so refuses to have anything to do with it And you seem to have forgotten how to spell Bell end....

The timings and details will all be posted this week! ;D Look forward to seeing the full details. We're dead easy to please so we'll probably follow the group, then find our digs whilst you lot erect you tents, then meet again for the evenings. Play it by ear. The only thing we've GOT to do is Land's End because Carol went to John O Groats last month so she wants to complete the set. (I haven't told her about the '4 corners' thing yet !) Roger ps are Bob & Fern still coming ?

I know you like to brag GM but if you have a bell end the size of me you've got trouble. In fact I can't make it because I'm not allowed out after 9 and my mum warned me about about associating with Hooligans. Don't worry Slow poke I'll make an appearance down there soon, circumstances just don't allow it at the moment and I just heard it sometimes rains down there.

I will endeavour to post links on google maps to the route for each day.It *is* a bit Heath Robinson because we have only ever been that way once (last year) and then we had to change the saturday run to a hoon down the main roads because Jools' sprocket carrier bearing broke apart on the way to Exeter so we didn't leave there until around 1400 hrs.
