I have a 92 600S and last tank I had was about 140 to reserve. Just passed 10,000 on the clock. I do have a question tho. I am running at about 5k to 5.5k RPM for 65mph on the hwy on 6th gear. Is it normal? Converting it to kms (as I do) 90 kph is 56 mph at around 4.5k. So 5-5.5k should be in the 100/105 kph or mid 60's mph. Yep, seems normal. ;D

Thnks Pilgrim. I've since tried to conduct some more objective tests. The vibes are worst between 3500 & 4000rpm. It does reduce quite a lot just before 4500 but never goes away completely. 4500 to 5000 is the smoothest area which equals indicated 65 - 70mph which in the absence of a fairing is for me the maximum comfortable speed. I've made use of the gearcommander site. This seems to suggest that my speedo accuracy wanders after about 85ish mph. According to gearcommander i should be seeing 104mph at 8500rpm in 5th gear. At that engine speed the speedo only just brushes the ton, maybe a whisker under. Both sprockets are standard, and tyres are good. Needless to say, it won't reach the 8500rpm bloodline in top! I have read that careful valve clearance adjustment & carb balancing may help to reduce vibes slightly. I will have another attempt at both! Suspect front engine mount dampers may have age hardened as well, given that the bike is 12 years old. Quotes from Fowlers and Granby are about 50 quid for a set, so I'd rather check everything else first!
