.... at 80 mph this morning on my way through slough. Dopey thing never had a chance.Scared the hell out of me, too. Scratched me lid too.Was just a glancing blow, but nearly had me off the bike and the poor bird's beak ended up on the wrong side of it's head - dunno if it hit anything else after me, but it was stone deed when i stopped. Had to take 5 minutes to get over it. My neck hurts a bit, but got away with .

Hitting any bird at speed is neither big nor clever.
I only just missed taking out a pheasant one day on the way back from Oban on the Divvy.
I had a pigeon play with my windscreen when in the car one day on the motorway at about 80. Bloody thing exploded on impact, the pigeon that is not the windscreen.
Windscreen wipers are not very good at clearing bird entrails from your screen when traveling at speed.

Leave it out you two, think the only thing deserving of some sympathy here is that poor little deceased birds mate. Just think how many orphans you have just created Gurninman by your wreckless racing. It's about time you slowed down and gave the wildlife a break, perhaps the time has come to purchase a Fazer or even an Fjr Trev

Bugrem.

My neck hurts a bit, but got away with . OK, predictable comment coming up... Please get your neck checked out by a chiropractor. Seemingly small whiplash events can have nasty long term effects. Its not "free" like the NHS, but what price your health and no waiting lists. And the last thing that went through that poor bird's head when you hit it... Was its a*se Hit more birds - buy an FJR (its wide enough)

Its true, it does hurt.
Hit one on the way back from the Devon run a few years ago, 100 or so...
If i hadnt have seen it out of the corner of my eye and braced myself, it would have taken me clean off the bike !.

I have a creaky neck which is ok if it gets Chiropractic treatment now & again. In my 20's I worked in a power station and every now and then hit my head on low beams/pipes. I'd get a stiff neck but didnt bother about it because the safety hat meant no bruising. Bruising was the least of my worries.

If you feel you were ripped off complain to the GCC. Unlike the GMC the chiropractic regulators do use their teeth.
