"Staying wherever I can squeeze meself in. " Mmmmmm thinks this might not be so much of a squeeze or put out for some kind individual! I'm sure I don't know what you're suggesting......but am happy to put meself at the mercy of 'kind individuals'

I find living apart for a month usually helps ;DBlimey Jude! That could catch on! Tell me, how would one broach the subject with SWMBO? And what about the washing and ironing? Does Pete bring that round to you or do you collect and deliver? ;D ;D Substitute him for yourself where neccessary : 1. Persuade him he needs something better and bigger for work. However, to pay for it he has to work all hours God sends 7 days a week all round the country. The car being only 6 months old means that it needs servicing on a regular basis. That usually helps. 2. Make sure you remind him that being a contract worker, he never knows when he will be out of work so remind him he needs to save to pay the bills when he's out of work. Remind him that since i have recently spent most of my savings on the house and a few indulgencies for myself , its no good him coming to me for money to tide him over. 3. Persuade him that now we have the dog we need a new caravan. Not a clapped out thing that you can buy for £200 but a nice one. Then when the deal has been done, remind him the caravan storage fees and insurance is due in July. 4. Remind him the car tax is due in a few months and so is the insurance. 5. Remind him christmas is coming up. 6. Remind him that i have just lost £60 a week that was being used to support the kids/dog/myself and that its all down to him now. I find a mixture of the following usually helps. If not all of them if he is feeling particularly unmotivated. On the downside of this, he normally takes a good few weeks worth of clothes so when he comes home all i do for days is wash his work clothes. At this point he is normally in bed for a good couple of days. However, this is not usually because he cant get enough of me. Its usually cause he is clapped out.

Judi - you are a devious woman! You should apply to help Mr Reid run the Home Office! Now I know why Pete spends some time away from home!

So, have you all made your 'meet up' arrangements? All know who you are meeting where, for the journey to Portsmouth, Southampton, Lymington? And what about the old boy from Hainault, Essex? He has to travel all on his lonesome on the arduous journey to Lymington? Mumbling in to his full-face as he faces the perils of the M25/M3/M27 on his own!

Well, we are all not used to going the long way round besides have you seen how hard it is to try and get everyone to make a decision. Honestly what are things coming too! Jim what about the chap whose coming from Hitchin still not yet mentioned which route he is taking?

Ade
I was only having a larf! I will not be using that route, I will be using a shorter route. I'll cross the Thames at Blackwall and use the A2 to the M25, then A3/A31/M3/M27.
When I have a ferry to catch I prefer to travel alone really. Then you cannot be held up by others running behind!
There's one thing we have'nt done yet. Exchange mobile phone numbers. Just in case of hold-ups!
Mine is: 0794nine 944four56

Ady says he can do a good deal on tourist visas from the mainland - says he can get them for the paltry sum of £50. If any of you still have to get 'em, let him know - I've ordered mine.
