Guys, although i did a very extensive search about this i wasn't able to find anything similar... This is about the fairing vibrations at 4k rpm area... Some years ago i was registered with the YDCN (Yamaha Diversion Club Netherlands) goup and a member there had said that he was able to cure the 4k fairing vibration by using this tip: He bought a "rubberized undercoating spray" and sprayed with it the whole inside of its d600 fairing. He claimed that the 4k vibrations had gone completely away using that trick. As i'm about to try it but i know that once done there is no going back , have anyone of you tried it? If not, then how did you solve the 4k fairing vibrations problem (if anyone solved it? )

i used window insulation tape, and some thin rubber tube split open and "clipped" round the screen edge at the top where it rubs on the fairings. It's pretty much stopped it.

I go round and tighten up all the wellnuts every so often. That helps but I guess you tried that already.

Keep tightening them.. they'll be useless the next time you have to take off and replace the screen for whatever reason, they deform and go hard. Guess how I know (and no this time it isn't my ham-fistedness that caused it)

i replaced the stupid plastic bolts with black steel ones with plastic washers it helped due to the fact you can tighten them fully. well worth the couple of quid and 5 min work

Again, they use rubber nuts for a reason; so as not to stress the plastic parts.

I tighten the nuts as tight it can be (and it can't be much) but the vibration buzz is still there (although less than before).
To be honest i'm unable to locate where exactly the buzz comes from. I am sure that it comes from the fairing (because when i ride without it there is no vibration buzz) but i struggle to locate the noise furthermore....
I'll try amorti's trick with the screen and see what happens.

When you ride along at x revs where it does it, press the black inner down against the outer fairing. They vibe against each other.
Also the edge of the screen vs. the outer fairing. It's at corners usually.

I've just had the fairing etc. off the 900 to do the head bearings and now it buzzes like crazy, but only at moderate revs. Guess I'll just have to keep the needle further up the dial where it's smooth as a baby's bum.
